Changing of Seasons

In early September I sent an e-bits that talked about my monthly trips to southern Indiana to do jobsite inspections. I talked about the changing tree colors and how I was looking forward to my fall trips and the vibrant colors of the trees. That got me thinking about the fact that our seasons here in Indiana are about to change from summer weather to fall weather (and winter is right around the corner). I enjoy the mild temps in fall and always look forward to that time of year, even though it always seems short lived. We normally go from summer temperatures straight to winter with very few pleasant fall days!
I bring up weather changes to make the point that you might start to notice some changes at your home or commercial building. Freezing and thawing naturally occurs and you might see a concrete slab move a little as the seasons change. Normally that isn’t an issue for concern, but you’ll want to keep your eye on those things to be sure they do not become abnormal. If you start to notice slabs moving, cracks in your foundation or drywall starting to separate at the seams, you might want to call a professional to take a look at it. PDMi has the resources to come alongside you and assess the issue and give advice as to how to repair it properly.
You never know when Mother Nature’s yearly habit of “cold, then warm, then cold again” could cause issues with your structure. If this happens to you, give us a call and let us come out and take a look at what’s going on with you building.
