Freeze & Thaw

It’s that time of year again in northeast Indiana where we seem to experience extreme temperature swings. We seem to ride the weather roller coaster up and down from now until something like mid-May when summer finally starts to peak through. I’ve lived in the Midwest my entire life, so it’s no surprise to me.

With all of these temperature changes come the freeze and thaw of early spring. You might notice it at your house where your driveway tends to “heave” a bit throughout the cold months. This is natural and shouldn’t be much of a cause for concern. However, you always want to keep an eye on cracks in your foundation, whether at your home or commercial building. Foundation cracks can cause bigger problems down the road, such as moisture infiltration, cracked drywall and pipes bursting. All of those things can be repaired, but the time and money spent on them can be prevented by calling a professional as soon as you notice anything suspicious.

If you start to notice something strange in your foundation, give us a call. We can help diagnose the issue and design a solution that fits your needs and keeps your structure in excellent condition.
